This edition of Signal by Digjitale cannot start without mentioning the release of a new AI powered web browser by OpenAI, called Atlas. I had the chance to test it out during this week and I was mindblown by the agent functionalities it offers. I put it to direct use to prepare the designs for this newletter while giving it clear instructions and it did a great job, with some minor corrections, but there’s gonna be improvements that we’ll see really quickly. So let’s dive in.

ChatGPT wants to kill Google Chrome

OpenAI has unveiled Atlas, a next-generation ChatGPT-powered browser that doesn’t just refine search, it removes it altogether. Instead of typing queries, you simply tell ChatGPT what you need (by text or voice), and Atlas handles the rest. It can browse, summarize, click through sites, and even make purchases for you. With its “agent mode,” Atlas connects multiple actions across different websites, while built-in memory recalls your preferences, chats, and browsing history. Compared to that, Google’s Gemini-in-Chrome feels more like a cautious experiment.

Atlas isn’t adding AI to a browser, it is the browser. It merges context awareness, long-term memory, and autonomous agents into a single interface, changing how people interact with the internet. While privacy concerns are already surfacing, there’s no denying this marks a major shift. OpenAI has moved beyond providing answers to actively navigating and operating the web for users.

Atlas doesn’t aim to outsmart Google Search. It replaces the entire process of searching. Will that work? Remains to be seen.

Stop Learning AI Backwards: The 3-Step Roadmap to Go From Beginner to Expert

Most people try to learn AI in reverse—skipping the basics and diving straight into complex tools. But true mastery comes from building a foundation first. Understanding how large language models (LLMs) work, learning the art of prompt engineering, and experimenting with simple use cases are the keys to getting reliable results. Once you grasp the fundamentals, you can start applying AI to everyday tasks like research, content creation, and business support in a way that actually delivers value.

The next step is automation through AI agents. Tools like Make, Zapier, or n8n let you connect your core business apps and data, creating workflows that save hours of manual effort. The power comes from integrating LLMs into these automations, allowing your systems to think, reason, and respond intelligently. With the right setup, AI agents can handle multi-step business operations, from onboarding new clients to managing leads or generating reports, consistently and at scale.

Finally, Agentic AI takes things to a new level. This is where orchestration, memory, and multi-agent collaboration come in. By combining frameworks, vector databases, and advanced reasoning methods, you can build systems that plan, adapt, and make decisions autonomously. The end goal is not just to use AI but to work alongside it, creating agent-driven workflows that solve real-world problems with precision, creativity, and impact.

The rise of Kosovar Capital in Albania

Kosovo-based companies are rapidly strengthening their presence in the Albanian market. Earlier this week, KAN shpk, the company holding KFC’s franchise rights for Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro, announced the acquisition of Global Fast Food Albania, the operator of KFC in Albania. With this move, KAN now controls the KFC brand across nearly the entire Western Balkans. Owned by businessman Fatmir Zymberi, KAN also operates Scandinavian Living, which holds the Danish home retail brand JYSK in Albania and several other regional markets.

This marks the third major acquisition by Kosovar enterprises in Albania this year. In July, Viva Fresh, Kosovo’s largest retail chain owned by Xhevdet Rexhepi, finalized the €36.4 million purchase of Spar Albania, the country’s second-largest supermarket network. Then, in September, ALBI Holding completed its €7.6 million acquisition of Fashion Group Albania (FGA) from the Balfin Group, bringing global brands like Mango, Geox, Parfois, and Springfield under its umbrella.

According to the Bank of Albania, Kosovar investments in Albania reached €63 million in the first half of 2025, up 50% year-on-year, with total investment stock now standing at €485 million. Data from INSTAT show that by the end of 2024, 582 active companies in Albania were operating with Kosovar capital, a 12% increase compared to the previous year and more than 130% growth over the past decade.

Diella Takes the Stage: How Albania’s AI Minister Is Shaping the Region’s Tech Future

GrowthTank is gearing up for its fifth edition on November 7–8 in Pristina, promising another dynamic mix of technology, marketing and creativity. Recent updates from the organizers reveal that the conference will again bring top voices from around the globe to share insights with attendees. It’s billed as a meeting ground where innovation meets human energy, with sessions covering AI, digital marketing and storytelling.

One of the big announcements this week is that Diella, Albania’s pioneering Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, will appear on stage. Her role underscores how governments are starting to shape AI policy and how the Balkans are positioning themselves in this emerging field. The organizers have also confirmed that Federica Luna Goffy, a creative director and storyteller known for her work with global brands, will join the lineup. Her presence hints at sessions exploring how brands can connect more authentically with audiences in a world saturated with content.

Neil Redding, a near futurist and innovation architect with three decades of experience advising companies like Apple, Nike and Visa, will also be on stage. According to a profile published earlier this week, Redding will deliver a talk titled “The Near Future of Leadership: Orchestrating with AI Agents,” sharing how AI and spatial computing can redefine how leaders make decisions. These speaker reveals show that GrowthTank 2025 will not just celebrate technological advances but also examine how AI intersects with leadership and creativity. Stay tuned for more announcements as the conference approaches.

Albania goes digital, Electronic ID System to replace physical cards by 2026

Albania is taking a major step toward digital transformation with the introduction of an electronic identification system set to launch in early 2026, Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Monday. The new system will allow citizens to access public services seamlessly without the need for a physical ID card, marking a milestone in the country’s digital governance efforts.

Developed by state-owned ID issuer IdentiTek, the platform aligns with the EU’s upcoming European Digital Identity (EUDI) framework, which will enable citizens and businesses across Europe to securely prove their identity and share official documents online by 2027. Rama emphasized that Albania’s move not only modernizes public service delivery but also brings the nation closer to EU digital standards.

With five of six EU negotiation clusters already opened and the final one expected later this year, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen recently noted that Albania is on track to complete its EU accession negotiations by 2027, a timeline that fits perfectly with its growing digital ambitions.
