To mark the opening in Kosovo, Fresha will host a special event on 4 September in Prishtina, offering attendees an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to scale from a startup to a global product serving millions worldwide.

Registered participants will have the opportunity to meet Fresha’s CTO, Chris Greeno, along with engineers from both local and global teams, join talks and discussion panels on scaling, systems, and strategy, and explore real-life AI use cases that are already shaping the future of tech.

Artificial Intelligence designs antibiotics for gonorrhoea and MRSA superbugs

Researchers at MIT have revealed that artificial intelligence has designed two brand new potential antibiotics-molecules capable of killing drug-resistant gonorrhoea and MRSA.

Unlike traditional methods, where scientists test existing chemicals for antibacterial properties, the AI built new compounds atom-by-atom, analyzing more than 36 million possibilities. It learned how different molecular structures affect bacteria, filtered out toxic candidates, and avoided anything too similar to current antibiotics.

The result? Two compounds that not only worked in the lab but also cleared infections in animal tests. While these drugs still require years of refinement and clinical trials, the MIT team believes this could mark the start of a “second golden age” of antibiotic discovery.

Startup Spotlight - Kidsday Joins Dare2Scale 2025

This year’s Dare2Scale program brings together 33 founders from 18 companies across Bulgaria and the Western Balkans. Among them is Kidsday, a Kosovo-born digital platform on a mission to transform how childcare centers, preschools, and kindergartens run their daily operations.

Kidsday tackles one of the sector’s most persistent pain points: educators drowning in paperwork and parents left guessing about their child’s day. With AI-powered planning, observation, and reporting tools, the platform helps teachers reclaim valuable time, keeps families in the loop, and ensures each child’s development is carefully tracked.

The spark for Kidsday came from a personal pain point. When a leading kindergarten in Kosovo adopted the team’s prototype, the results were immediate: less admin work, better parent communication, and noticeable improvements in child development tracking. That was the moment the founders realized this wasn’t just an idea. it was a much-needed solution for the entire early education sector.

And while the industry might seem ripe for disruption, the reality is surprising: even in developed countries, many childcare centers still rely on handwritten notes and casual hallway updates to inform parents. Kidsday is out to change that.
