This week's Signal is one of those where the rest of the year suddenly makes more sense.
Google walked on stage at Shoreline and announced an end-to-end agent stack: a cheaper Gemini that beats its own Pro tier, a $100 per month cloud worker, an open browser protocol for AI traffic, an agent cart that runs on every Google surface, and the TPU pod that just took the inference price lead off Nvidia.
Then, William Zeqiri’s Fresha became a unicorn because Gemini and Claude are already booking one in four of its appointments.
The Google announcements are the spine, the Fresha round is the proof, and the two Balkan summits opening between this weekend and early June are where this week's playbook gets tested in CEE.

Google opened I/O 2026 on May 19 at Shoreline and treated it less like a developer conference than a relaunch of the consumer web. Seven products in one keynote rewriting how most people will buy, search, and create over the next twelve months. Most of it shipped globally on day one, including a same-day Arab World rollout of the model and the video creator. The commerce layer rolls out US-first this summer. The cheaper model that beats the older expensive one
Gemini 3.5 Flash replaces what most operators were paying for. It runs at $1.50 in / $9 out per million tokens (1M-token context), beats the older 3.1 Pro on coding and agent benchmarks at 25% less, and outputs answers four times faster than the rest of the frontier pack. In real terms, the AI inside your customer-support tool or sales-summary script just got better and cheaper without you doing anything except swapping the model name in your settings. The $100 cloud coworker that works while you sleep
Gemini Spark is a personal AI assistant that lives in Google's cloud (not on your laptop), runs 24/7, and reaches into Gmail, Docs, Workspace, and a growing list of external apps (Canva, OpenTable, Instacart, Adobe, Spotify) via MCP. The price tag is $100 a month, the entry rung of Google's new AI Ultra tier. In practice, you hand Spark a bounded task you'd normally give a junior coordinator (sales triage, calendar wrangling, end-of-day inbox cleanup) and arrive at your desk to a queue already worked through.
Any photo, clip, or voice note becomes a video
Gemini Omni Flash is Google's new video model, and it rolled out in the Arab World on day one. Drop in a still product shot, a 10-second clip, a voice note, or three sentences. Omni stitches them into a finished short you can re-edit by talking to it ("make the background brighter, swap the music"). Free inside YouTube Shorts and Google Flow. What this means in practice: a marketing team that briefed an agency and waited two weeks for a 15-second product video can now ship five tests in an afternoon.
When agents start buying, AP2 is the till
AP2 + Universal Cart is the protocol that lets AI agents buy things on your behalf across Search, Gemini, YouTube, and Gmail. Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, Shopify, and an early-merchant list (Nike, Sephora, Walmart, Wayfair) signed on. What this means for your store: in a few months, a customer will say "Gemini, book Mother's Day flowers under €40" and the agent picks the florist whose checkout speaks AP2. If your DTC stack doesn't have the hooks, you lose the sale. US rollout is this summer, with Canada, Australia, and the UK behind.
Make your website readable to agents
Right now, when an AI agent visits your booking page, it scrapes the HTML and guesses what to click. WebMCP replaces that with a small published menu of structured functions an agent can call directly: check availability, reserve, cancel, reschedule, add note. Expedia, Shopify, Target, and Etsy are in the early trial. What it gets you: spend an afternoon publishing five WebMCP functions on your highest-traffic page and you become the merchant agents reach first, instead of the one they fumble through.
Search just got redesigned for the first time in 25 years
Liz Reid, head of Google Search, called the new intelligent AI Search box the biggest change to Google's front door in a quarter-century. The bar dynamically expands as you write, accepts text, images, files, videos, and Chrome tabs as inputs, and offers AI-powered suggestions that go beyond autocomplete. AI Overviews already touches 2.5 billion monthly users; AI Mode hit 1 billion. If your SEO playbook still aims at being one of the ten blue links, the surface you optimised for is already gone. Wiliam Zeqiri’s FRESHA, hits UNICORN status

Fresha took $80M from KKR's Next Generation Technology Growth fund at a $1B valuation on May 21, pushing total raised to $285M.
The London-headquartered booking operating system runs 35M+ appointments per month for 140,000 beauty and wellness businesses, around $15B in annual GMV, and is already profitable.
The number in KKR's release that matters: one in four Fresha bookings now come through Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude agents, growing 50% month over month.
That makes Fresha the first vertical SaaS to publicly disclose double-digit agent-routed revenue, and it tells you why Google just shipped AP2 and WebMCP. The agents need somewhere to spend, and the vertical with the booking graph collects the toll.
Fresha runs quite a global distribution, but it's worth noting that its team in Kosovo is exploding in growth, currently expanding offices and continuing to hire team members to support and serve global customers.
Pristina hosts Binance
Pristina's Klan Arena hosts the Balkans Blockchain Summit 2026 this Saturday and Sunday, free to attendees, with Binance as headline partner and CMO Rachel Conlan on the keynote.
The event is considered among the largest in the region's largest with focus on themes such as AI, tokenization, stablecoins, and Web3 education.
If you build in fintech, stablecoins, or AI infrastructure across the Balkans, follow Saturday morning's policy panel for any tokenization or licensing signals; those tend to land at events like this before they reach official channels.

Belgrade builds a deal-room

The pull is for solo operators turning a stack of PDFs, contracts, or research notes into a sixty-second video the team will actually watch. Pick your messiest source folder this week and convert it.
Design: Imagen renders text and typography cleanly inside Workspace. Imagen now handles text, typography, and material textures inside Slides and Docs, killing the "AI-generated banner" tell that used to embarrass marketing decks. If you build pitch material, replace stock photography in one deck this week and see which slides stop reading as templated.
Marketing: Google's AI Shopping ads auto-write product blurbs. Buried inside Google Marketing Live: AI Shopping generates product copy from your feed, Conversational Discovery places ads inside AI Mode answers, and Business Agent for Leads runs a chat against your site from inside the ad.
