When I started Digjitale back in 2011, the goal was simple. Shine a light on the startups and founders from Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia and the region. Back then, there weren’t many places telling these stories. We wanted to be there for the early wins, the tough lessons and the moments that showed the potential of our ecosystem to the world.
Over time, something became clear. If we only spoke in Albanian, the world would miss out on what was really happening here. So we switched to English. The mission stayed the same, but the audience got bigger. We started showing investors, partners and anyone curious about the Balkans that this part of the world is full of talent, ambition and ideas worth paying attention to. We became the number one media in the region, when someone wanted to know what was going on in the startup scene of this region.
Fast forward to today. Digjitale has been dormant for a while and now is going through another shift. I’ve been experimenting heavily with AI in the past couple of months of 2025. Not in a hype-driven way, but in a practical, useful way. Building tools that help find, verify and curate the most interesting stories, trends and opportunities from the region. The aim now is simple: make sure people who care about startups, innovation and tech around the world and in the Balkans or from the Balkans, can find the right information without noise.
The focus today is content curation. Less random scrolling, more meaningful updates. It’s about keeping our community connected to the right stories at the right time.
This is the start of the next chapter for Digjitale. If you want to follow what’s really happening in the Balkans but the world as well, from early-stage founders to the latest tech experiments, you’re in the right place.
People who know me know that I’ve been close to this ecosystem for years. I’ve covered breakthrough startup stories, the big wins and the tough pivots, and I’ve lived the founder journey myself. This next chapter for Digjitale is a way to keep doing what I’ve always done, telling the story of innovation, but with better tools and a sharper focus.
